About Ram Ghat, Ujjain

Ram Ghat is the main bathing ghat in Ujjain, located on the banks of the sacred
Kshipra River. It is the primary site for the Simhastha (Kumbh) Mela held every 12 years.
The ghat is also popular for performing ancestral rites and asthi visarjan.

The evening aarti at Ram Ghat is a beautiful ceremony that draws large crowds.

Religious Significance

Ujjain is one of the four cities that host the Kumbh Mela. According to legend,
drops of Amrit fell here during the churning of the ocean. The city is also associated with
King Vikramaditya and is one of the seven cities that grant moksha.
