About This Ritual
The complete Gaya Shraddh involves performing Pind Daan at all the
sacred vedis (platforms) in and around Gaya. This comprehensive ritual takes 3-7 days
and is considered the ultimate offering for ancestral salvation.
Major sites included:
1. Vishnupad Temple - The most sacred spot with Lord Vishnu's footprint
2. Phalgu River - Where Lord Rama performed Shraddh
3. Akshayavat - The immortal banyan tree
4. Pretshila Hill - Where souls await salvation
